Arthur walked into the cafe looking to get something to eat. It had been a while since he'd engaged in a normal meal and with his lingering hangover that proved this place to be real he figured he needed to start feeding himself regularly.

It was only a minor surprise to see the comic and movie character Hellboy sitting at a table. After Fluttershy Arthur wasn't sure much in the way of new residents was going to surprise him.

He raised an eyebrow and gave a polite nod to the larger man.

Hellboy would be pleased to know that he is secondary in weirdness to a talking technicolor pony, truly.

He gives the man a nod. "Evenin'," he rumbles, voice deeper then Ron Perlman could manage.

"Good evening." Arthur gets some tea and a grilled sandwich of his own before returning.

"Mind if I sit down? I saw your message go out earlier about seeking information. I'm Arthur."

"Certainly," says Hellboy, gesturing to the table. He didn't know the guy from Adam, but figured for now he'd roll with who came by. He wasn't afraid of most people being able to hurt him around here, what with the supposed protections on the Blackstone, but he was still interested in meeting people -- and getting info. "I'm Hellboy."

"Nice to meet you." Arthur refrains from mentioning the fact that Hellboy is a well known fictional character where he's from. Shard might be okay with it, but he wasn't going to take chances with someone who could probably through him across a street no matter what military training he has. Not to mention it seemed rude to discount a person's existence when they are sitting in front of you.

"I'm afraid most of the information I can give you is secondhand because I haven't been here very long myself. I can give you the names of the people I've talked to if you want to go and ask them specific questions yourself. As far as I've seen, everyone here is willing to share what they know in order to figure out the dangers we're facing at the very least. A lot of people want to get back to their homes as well."

Hellboy hasn't seen a movie in about, oh, ten years, so Arthur's safe from him. The last thing he saw in the theater was Unbreakable.

"That's helpful," he says, fishing in his pockets. He found a notepad in the hotel room, and the pen with the Blackstone's name on it. "Good that there's a sense of community, too."

That was important.

Arthur takes a bit of his sandwich and pulls out his own notebook from the inside of his suit jacket while he chews. "Yes, we all pretty much stick together because of whatever is out there. There's this hotel and then the Hardrock that are serving as residences."

"Smart," he says. People who don't stick together or fall to bickering end up dead. Divided they fall, as it were. "WHo runs the Hard Rock? I've been told it's less protected."

Arthur nods.

"I haven't heard of anyone running the hotels. The amount of protection might just have to do with who the residents are and what they're capable of."

"So, the less sensible or less knowledgeable are hanging out at the Hard Rock?" That might be a better way to put it. "Anybody gone over to give them a hand with that?"

Arthur rolls one shoulder in a half shrug as he drinks some of his tea. "I'm not sure. Like I said, I haven't been here much very long myself. I've spent most of my time trying to figure out what's going on, and parading about on a ridiculous rescue mission, but I haven't heard of the hotels ever being in danger."

Hellboy nodded, made little notes in his cribbed, left handed writing. Learned ambidexterity was hard.

"Rescue?"

"Yes. Jennifer Walters was kidnapped by Megamind." Arthur's mouth twists in a condescending sort of smile.

"It turned out to be pretty pointless. He was sort of a Saturday morning cartoon type villain and didn't have much nefariousness in him at all. I've done worse than him I believe."

Megamind. Jenn Walters.

"I've met Miss Walters," says Hellboy. Good to know. "Saturday Morning Cartoon, huh?"

Arthur nods again while he works on his sandwich. "It's what he put me in mind of. The other residents say there have been worse things before. Apparently there was something that could take on the forms of the residents; Dean Winchester is the one who mentioned that."

He nodded, continuing to write. "Dopplegangers aren't uncommon in the supernatural world. Skinchangers, faerie doubles - it's a neat trick, but a common one," says Hellboy.
