George located the bookstore, and likewise had a large stack of books piled on the table by him. Sometimes he wandered the shelves, particularly the language and history books. Though currently he had some curious folklore and zoology books on the table. Also a cuppa tea slowly cooling as he occasionally drank from it. The book on his lap was spread open to legends. All that could be seen of the title was 'Loup-Garou.'

He noticed the other sitting occupant in between passages and gave a nod of greeting.

Finishing up A Rose for Everafter, Thomas tossed the book into a third, smaller pile, and leaned backwards in his chair, stretching. A motion from nearby caught his attention and Thomas nodded back at the vaguely familiar man. Given that he seemed to have noticed Thomas at all without Thomas needing to ask a question directly, it seemed likely he wasn't one of the empty people walking around the city.

Glancing at his book fort and his now-empty cups of coffee, Thomas stood up and walked over. He needed a stretch anyway, and the walk gave him a few more seconds to call up why the other man looked familiar. "You're the guy who was looking for a place to keep wild animals, weren't you?"

George stiffened before adjusting his glasses, and calmly lowering the book. He shut it, and set it aside, cover facing down on top of the stack. He glanced over at him, and his nose twitched because there was an interesting smell. Hmm. With the wolf coming closer to the surface, his senses were sharpening in preparation.

"Yes I was. Did you have something, or some experience into it?"

Thomas shrugged, the gesture liquid and practiced. "Not unless you count 'use the zoo.' Just thought you looked familiar, that's all," he replied nonchalantly. He paused thoughtfully as a thought occurred to him, and a smirk pulled at the corner of his lips. "I could tell you where to get shackles though, if that'll help any."

George immediately shook his head, "Not enough, too easy to slip out."

He tilted his head, "I hadn't seen the zoo around here, but I'm not used to Chicago or America for that matter yet."

The immediate answer makes Thomas raise an eyebrow, and he shoots the other man a smirk most people would have called infuriating. "You have much experience with shackles?"

"Yes.. I mean no! Well, I saw this thing on the telly, and it came up. For bears."

The smirk became a grin at the quick, jumbled answer. "So... you found a bear in town."

"Well not really a bear exactly. It's uh well more like a large wolf?"

George fiddled with the tea cup in his hands as he spoke.

Thomas blinks slowly. He's pretty sure Billy Borden had been in the city for a while and then had left, like so many of the others who just disappeared. But what if...

"Okay, weird question. You didn't happen to find a werewolf, did you?"

George jerked his head to him, and then finally sighed.

"Not found. Am. Yes, hello, I'm George, and I'm a werewolf. How are you?"

George's answer was greeted with a sigh of relief from Thomas. "Well, that's better than the idea that you've chained up Will." He ran a hand through his hair and offered George a hand. "Thomas. Vampire. Only two-thirds of what you hear about me on the network's true."

George blinked with surprise before shaking his hand, "I thought I noticed something. You're not like the ones from my world. Much more civil than most of them, other than my best mate, Mitchell. A pleasure."

George's blink of surprise got one in return from Thomas. It was in the White Court's nature to be hard to distinguish from humans by humans, but he'd never really thought about it from the side of werewolves or any other of the supernatural players. "Good to know."

"Oh so this isn't going to be a whole Underworld, eternal feud thing? Great." Because really, Thomas had enough eternal feuds with people based on him opening his mouth that one based on blood didn't appeal. "Pleasure's all mine."

"Well you didn't start in with the dog cracks so you're one up on them there. Also if it's all the same I'd just soon avoid the full moon fighting cage match."

Yes some vampires back home were really that bad.

At that, Thomas chuckled, a dry, cynical little sound. "Deal. I've got enough trying to kill me without starting a monthly standing date." He sank into an empty chair at George's table and raised an eyebrow. "So shackles aren't enough to deal with the furry little problem?"
