The Riddle of the Bells [[ Open ]]

Characters: Anyone interested in figuring out the mystery behind the church’s chimes
Time: Throughout the day (Currently post-dated to Sunday, February 13th)
Location: St. Peter's Church to the café at Barnes and Noble on East Jackson
Content: The bells of churches in the northern part of the Loop have been ringing all day - even for churches that have no apparent bells. Perhaps someone or something is trying to send a message to those who live in Chicago...?

It starts at seven in the morning. The northernmost place of worship in Chicago, just south of the Chicago River, lets out a deep and rich knell, louder than it has been the previous week and certainly loud enough to resonate through the Blackstone and Hard Rock hotels blocks away.

Exactly one minute later, the next church south chimes with one of the same majestic tones. A minute after that, the church south of the previous chimes with two, followed by a church chiming with three, and then another with five.

This continues for nearly the entire morning until the nineteenth church to let loose its bells - a total of 1,597 tolls in less than half an hour - draws this impromptu concert to a close. This last church - the familiar St. Peter's on Madison - doesn't seem to have any visible bells that could have possibly sent out those great tolls.

Is someone trying to send a message to you? Perhaps investigating the church in question will reveal answers...
