Nervous energy was an amazing thing. Thomas's apartment had never been this clean, especially not after a week of laying on his back had let Harry's own less substantial mess start to accumulate.
Now, though, he waited for the arrival of those who, like him, now played host to the shards of a being so ancient and powerful that truly comprehending its might was impossible for a human mind. He would have to teach them how to resist the lure of intelligences that had been tempting souls to sin since before mankind had abandoned the garden.
That was why Harry had made sure there would be cookies.
