Whether there was a flash at his arrival into the Windy City or not went unnoticed as the Remnant stumbled to the ground upon landing, tumbling to a stop in the snow-patched grass of the park green surrounding the summoning Bean. The metallic box he'd been holding rolled from his grasp as he fell, and for a few moments, he simply glanced around blindly. Where was he. There was no grass, no clean sky, not where he'd been. Big Brother had been there, stopping him from getting to Mother...
Mother! He pulled himself to his feet, scrambling after the box, mindless of the cold, of the alien surroundings, clutching the box to his chest as one would a security blanket or a lost child. A cry, filled with anguish and longing, forced its way from his throat as his fingers played at the latched to the container desperately, wanting, needing, the contents within. At length, his frantic prying willed the box open, it's contents spilling forth onto his leather-gloved hands like warmed molasses.
His gasps of disbelief and distressed anxiety culminated into a cry, filled with despair and rage, pain and loss. "Mother!" And he wrapped his arms tightly around the emptied vessel, and wept.
