It hadn't been long since her "missions" for the force that governed the city and she was still a little moody from them. They had been a harsh reminder of the dangers that lurked in the shadows of this place. She didn't intend to be caught off guard by it, if anything it was their turn to be surprised.
Still it wasn't quite the trouble she'd been on the lookout for when she spotted the young woman wandering the edge of the park. Or the car she'd had the poor sense to step directly into the path of. Angling herself downward, Vin Pushed from a window frame and shot forward, dropping out of the sky in time to grab the redhead and Pull on a lamppost behind them, dragging them safely to the sidewalk and away from the car as it roared past, horn blaring.
"What were you doing?" Vin demanded after a brief sigh of relief, stepping back. "You have to be more careful!"

Giselle was pulled out of the way just as a car nearly struck her, not only startled by the sudden whisking through the air, but at the blaring horn honking at her for being there in the first place. She was only discombobulated for a moment though as Vin put her down, straightening her dress carefully.
"Well, I was looking for the castle. Or for Edward. I know he must be so worried, I was right on the way to our wedding when I fell down into the magical well. So you see, I must get back to the castle. Can you tell me where it is, please?"
Reply
"So you only just arrived here?" She asked, frowning as some of her frustration dissipated. Some. "Sorry but there's no castle here and no way out. You're stuck here like the rest of us."

She nodded, clasping her slender hands in front of her body. "I suppose then I shall have to find somewhere to rest my head for the night. Perhaps a meadow of daisies, or a tall tree with comfortable branches. I hear dwarves are very kind too."

Vin stared at Giselle for a long moment in disbelief. She'd been kidnapped away from her home, everything she'd ever known and all she could talk about was adventures?
"I don't think you understand." She said slowly. "You're not on your world. This is another world, you've been kidnapped here and if this Edward person does show up, he'll be trapped here too. And there are no meadows or dwarves, whatever those are, here either."

Giselle said it so matter-of-factly that it was impossible not to believe that she was completely serious. She smiled at Vin again, looking around.
"Until then, I'll have my adventure here. My name is Giselle, what is your name?"

She was about to voice those thoughts and fire back but held back. Just because this girl might have been lucky and come from a world where wishes like that came true was no reason to shoot her down. It would be hard enough when she realized the truth of this place.
"Come on," she said and turned to go, "I'll bring you to the hotel so you can get settled in."

"Perhaps you could tell me about this place. Where is it exactly? Is it near the Meadows of Joy? Or maybe the Valley of Contentment? I know of the Hills of Happiness too." She continued, her slender hands clasped in front of her body, which seemed like it should have been impossible with those poofy sleeves.

"It's called Chicago but nobody seems to know much else about it. Some people here say they're from here so it looks like it exists in some worlds but they all say this isn't the city they came from. There's no way out of the city anyway so there doesn't seem to be any way to tell for sure." She looked back as they started down the road. "Do you remember what happened to you before you were sent here?"
