Minako showed up in a plain black dress with an orange cardigan over it. She didn't really know what to bring to this... She hadn't ever celebrated Thanksgiving. So she brought a jug of apple cider and set it down on the table before going and standing awkwardly to the side.

But not for long. Jennifer had come out of the kitchen with a stack of clean plates, an apron around her hips as she set the warm plates down and took the top one, handing it to the closest person, which happened to be a girl who could not have been any more than eighteen.

"Here you go." Jennifer said with a smile. "Sorry they took so long, we have a limited number of plates."

Minako blinked a little, then smiled. "Oh... Oh, don't worry about it. I'm just a little overwhelmed, that's all..."

She pushed her hair behind her ear and moved out of way so the lady could set the plates down, and accepted the one handed to her.

Jennifer smiled at her again. "Overwhelmed? No need for that. Let's do something to alieveate that. My name is Jennifer. And you're going to definitely want some of those apple pies on the end. They are wonderful."

"I've never really celebrated Thanksgiving..." Minako admitted to her. "Oh.. Um. I'm Minako, it's nice to meet you, Jennifer."

She glance down toward the end of the table and nodded thoughtfully. "I'll make sure to grab a piece... Um... Anything else you suggest?"

Jennifer took the plate from the young woman then and nodded. "Okay, first Thanksgiving. I'll help you out then. The traditional foods are turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce..."

As she spoke, she put a bit of each on Minako's plate, filling it with most of what was on the table before putting the plate in Minako's hands again. "Try just a bit of each, then you can come back for what you find what you really like. Here, let me get you some silverware, and what would you like to drink? I'll pour you a glass while you find a seat."

Minako had opened her mouth to protest, but the woman was trying to do her a favor... So she let her. She watched the woman carefully, remembering what each dish was called as she slapped a small portion on her plate, then accepted the plate when it was handed back to her...

"Oh... I don't know, I guess some of the cider I brought.... Ah... Thank you."

"You're welcome." Jennifer replied with a smile.

She then sent the young woman on her way as she gathered up silverware and poured her a glass of the cider, approaching her yet again.

"Here you go. The key to Thanksgiving is to get a little of everything, and forget about the calories. It's about celebrating the toil of the year and enjoying what you've earned. In my case, it's the excuse I need for an extra slice of pie."
