Shopping Trip (Open)

Clare was doing her best to hurry, however the gust of wind cost her a few of her notes. She managed to keep hold of the book and her list of supplies. However several pages of her notes went flying into the air, "No." Clare did her best to follow and grab them. As they were notes she didn't care how crumpled they were so long as they survived.
She hadn't done a lot of note taking at first, but as questions came to mind she started to write them all down. With questions came possible answers, so along with questions she had theories and mythologies to explore. The origin for the importance of 'cold iron', salt, circles, those sorts of things. While she didn't need her notes as much as the book, it would be nicer to have them on paper so she didn't need to look them up again. So there she was, chasing down the pages as the wind carried them toward a small boy wandering the street.
He looked cold.

"Here you go," he said, moving forward so that he could hand them to her safely. "The wind is strong today so you might want to be more careful with things like this," he said, smiling at her.

"What the...?" He pulled the paper of hs face and looked up to see two kids trying to catch papers.
"Hey! Is this one of yours!?" He called, waving the paper in the air.

Clare was certain something about the paper collection the young boy did wasn't natural. The jump, mainly, it seemed more along the lines of what her ring allowed her to do. Although she hasn't tried jumping like that, just running and punching. She took the papers and smiled at the boy, he seemed remarkably well mannered for a kid, "Thank you."
Clare put most of the pages into her backpack, but kept out her book for reading when she could manage. Although the wind might prevent such a thing. Then she heard the other boy, he was more her age... but his hair and outfit were a bit... ostentatious. Just a bit. He had one of her pages though, "Sorry... But, yes, that's mine."

"Thank you for catching that," Negi replied, looking over at Clare, "Are you missing any do you think?"

"So what are you guys doing out here?" Sora asked.

"I think this is it, I'm Clare," Clare looked through all her papers. It seemed to all be in order, with the last page anyway. She added the last page to her bag, and clutched the book to her chest again. Once her bag was closed and on her back again she finally reacted to the older boy's question.
"Oh, um, I needed to get some supplies, that's all," she seemed a bit nervous, so she pulled her jacket a bit more closed. Unfortunately Clare didn't think that through as it just made the shape of the knife on the back of her hip more obvious. "I figured I should do it while there is daylight... safer and all."

He nodded in agreement with Clare, "That is a good idea. It does seem like more of the dangers are concentrated at night as opposed to the daytime. Though, it's probably best to be on guard at all times given the circumstances." He paused, realizing maybe Clare could use an escort or at least a hand with getting supplies, "If you're getting supplies, maybe we can go as a group? There's safety in numbers right?" Not that he was anticipating trouble but he felt like he could do more to help around here if he actually offered his services to people...even if it was merely as an escort. He didn't seem to be aware of the knife.

He considered what Negi suggested, Sora was a big fan of sticking together, because you could always do more more with friends than when you were alone.
"I wouldn't mind sticking around, it's always better to have friends around"

Clare didn't really want to go buying various nonsensical magic supplies with others. It wasn't as awkward as buying undergarments with them, but more awkward than buying anything else she might need. She was buying magic supplies, but she wasn't a witch. She was thankful the workers at the stores were fake, as it was one less person to eye her suspiciously.
"How about we start with getting dinner, then we can shop for supplies," If she drags it out she can do the last of her supplies tomorrow. She kept her book tight to her chest for now, she was losing hope that she'd get to read a bit more of it, but it would be a bit odd to put it away now. It was probably better to travel as a group, Negi was a bit young. Sora was a bit... well he was cheerful, and that was really nice. However last time Clare was that nice she had a really painful purple bruise on her shoulder. "Since Sora seems hungry now."

He looked curiously at the way Clare was holding the book. She seemed very protective of it. He wondered about its contents but thought it might be rude to ask.

Unlike Negi, Sora hadn't noticed that Clare was acting paticularly odd, yet, though once he did, he'd likely point it out. He didn't have quite the same sort of tact that Negi did.

"It's just Clare," what was with this kid? The teen girl adjusted her glasses and looked between the two. They certainly were not your average kids. The younger one was polite to a strange degree, didn't sound like he was from any of the American countries. The older one was sunny on a degree similar to Jenna, just without the sickening sweet aspects.
"Well, lead the way Negi," Clare offered, since he knew where they were going. She didn't have any better thoughts for dinner. Except not to give food to any Fae.

Deciding to keep conversation going on the short trip there Negi decided to ask, "Where are you two from?"

"I'm from Destiny Islands," Sora replied, though he figured the othwr two wouldn't know where that was, this was another world after all. "What about you, Negi? Where are you from?"

"Ontario, Canada," Clare answered. Thankfully of the questions to ask that one was pretty easy. Clare's lived in Ontario her whole life, completely ordinary life there. "Circa 2008," about the only qualifier she thought might be important. Given who she has met here, and the answer being important.
"I've never heard of there, is it nice?" She wasn't sure if this was a linguistic barrier issue, or just another world grossly separated from standard Earth. It seemed a bit direct a place name... but it could be the name of a location on Earth. She didn't know every detail of geography.
