Characters: Justine and Thomas Raith
Time: Late afternoon going into early evening (shortly after this)
Location: Hard Rock Hotel
Content: Star-crossed lovers...
Format: Starting with prose.
Warnings: Probable angst? (Or possible sugar overload. Or both. It's difficult to tell, with these two.)

It hadn't occurred to Justine that she shouldn't come here first. She hadn't even actually asked about Lara - if she was here, she had done without her charge-assistant long enough; she could do another night. Considering it was Lara, she could probably manage amazingly without Justine, period. And finding shelter closer to downtown when the nights were dangerous was a perfectly valid excuse not to show up back at Chateau Raith.

Thomas... was something entirely else.

It would hurt, her presence usually did hurt him. But her being there and keeping him ignorant of that would hurt even more.

She walked into the hotel calmly, inquired, and was given directions to his room, as well as assurances that if she decided to stay at their hotel, there would be a room available, thank you, Miss. She smiled sweetly at the girl at the reception - when had she become older than some of the staff at such places? - and made her way up.

She didn't hesitate to knock when she reached the room. If it was a bad moment, she'd be told; standing in front of his door wouldn't make any difference.

She hadn't put on perfume this time, either. Or gloves.

Oh, this would have to do.
