Toph Bei Fong woke up in confusion. She was positive that she had fallen asleep inside the old summer home of the Royal Family of the fire Nation the previous night. Thanks to Zuko, they were able to snag the place and call it home for a short while to prepare and wait for Sozen’s Comet. However, the place she woke up was completely different.

Toph had woken up underneath a giant metal…thing. She was sure it was some sort of statue, though the shape was odd, like a giant bean of some sort. This wasn’t right. She couldn’t feel the beach at all! In fact, nothing she felt seemed familiar. She didn’t even feel the other guys in the gang around. From what she could tell, she was surrounded by some sort of strange rock, metal, and glass. The metal structures were huge, and from what she could tell, they were some sort of building. Toph approached the one nearest to her. Yup. Definitely a building.

With all of these structures around, the earthbender found it odd that she really didn’t feel any people. Someone had to have built these things, and it certainly couldn’t be badgermoles. She had walked around the Fire Nation enough to know that even though their machines were made of metal, their cities and towns weren’t. So, where was she? And seriously, what was up with that weird statue she woke up under?

With no other choice coming to mind, Toph started looking for either a person to explain what was going on, or a way back to Ember Island and her friends. So far, she couldn’t feel much, though there were signs that there were some people around, but not the amount that one would expect would live in such a huge place.

Toph did find something interesting on the ground. It was made of an odd material. There was metal in it, but the thing encasing the metal was something different, something she had never touched before. It was hard and smooth like metal, but upon trying, she couldn’t bend it, so it had to be something else. She fiddled around with it, feeling and pressing the buttons, only to hear a few strange beeping sounds. “Stupid thing. What are all these buttons for anyway?” The little earthbender threw it on the ground in frustration. Whatever it was, it wasn’t going to help her get back. She grumbled to herself as she looked for her goal, and hopefully, some food. She was always hungry when she woke up.
