week twenty-nine
april 13th - april 14th
:::
Tis now the very witching time of night
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world
- Hamlet, William Shakespeare
:::
Lake Michigan is gone.
Everything east of Michigan Avenue is now cut off by fog and everything west and north of the river is also hidden behind the barrier. Southwards, the Field Museum, Soldier Field, the Shedd Aquarium - all of them are gone. Meanwhile, up over head, the fog is now covering the top floors of the Willis Tower, the Trump International Hotel and Tower, the Aon Center, and the John Hancock Center. Attempting to pass through the fog now will result in being knocked unconscious for an indeterminent amount of time.
The rest of the buildings that are slowly vanishing are no longer vanishing quietly either. All throughout Wednesday, the sounds of exploding glass and brick fill the remaining few blocks of Chicago, leaving only patches of fog or gaping, endless sinkholes where they once stood.
Chicago is deteriorating at an astonishing pace, and it won't take a wizard to realize that your time is short.
The witching hour has arrived.

IMPORTANT MOD NOTE: The last modpost mentioned that things will be moving more quickly. Well, now is the time. Please continue to feel free to backtag, but if you want your characters involved in endgame but do not have the time, please let us know what you want them to do and we will handwave accordingly.
We will update with part two of Chicago's destruction later this week. Keep a weather eye on the vanishing horizon!
