Bree's home! She arrived on Sunday while I was out back raking leaves. She's not actually at home that much, but we're glad to see her when she's around. She's been spending a lot of time with her boyfriend, Steve. We met Steve on Monday for the first time. He was quiet, but I sensed it was only because of the "girlfriend's father" tension. I looked in his soul and saw a kindred spirit. Bree says he makes her laugh and is very sweet to her. Hey, that's okay in my book. Plus he laughed at a few of my corny jokes.
They let us out of work early today. It's cold and raw outside, but that's what it's supposed to be like the day before Thanksgiving. We decided not to go down to Richmond this year, so it will just be the 3 of us for the Thanksgiving feast this year. I'm a little sorry that it didn't work out such that we could have been with our parents. They don't travel well these days, and we didn't want to deal with Thanksgiving in their apartment. We did that the last couple of years and it's kind of a hassle. Maybe I'll give them a call to asuage my guilt. Anyhow, I plan to eat, watch football and nap tomorrow. Can't wait. Of course I will help Marie in the kitchen. I actually enjoy cooking, so I'll find one of the dishes on the menu to be in charge of. Hope I don't screw it up.
