Around 10am on Sunday, December 24th, the housemates are woken by festive music piping through the house's intercom system. When all of the housemates had departed from the vans, Tezuka paused a moment to look up at the looming monolith of the mall... honestly, he so rarely went shopping. It might be helpful to have Echizen along for more than just the insight into what Sanada would prefer. Tezuka's gaze fell very briefly at Sanada - he did not look any more pleased to be at the mall than Tezuka himself felt. There was no use in dwelling on it.

Tezuka made a beeline for his former teammate, shifting through his fellow teammates to come to stand beside the younger (and shorter) man. He did not interrupt the conversation Echizen was engaged in, instead waiting patiently to be acknowledged.

Ryoma was just about done talking to Momo when he saw Tezuka approach him out of the corner of one eye. He nodded to his former captain and finished his conversation before waving Momo off - the other'd said something about not wanting to come with them this morning - and turning fully to Tezuka, stifling a yawn as he did so. (He had not anticipated being at the mall this early in the morning.)

"We c'n get going now," he said, nodding to the mall doors - the sooner they got in there and bought gifts, the sooner he could figure out how to sneak away and find Dan. Besides, he only had a vague idea of what to buy for Saeki, and this might take some time. "Guess we can look at the directory when we get in there.

Tezuka let his hands drop into his pockets and gave a nod of agreement. Honestly, he did not even know where to begin looking for a store where he could buy the item he intended to find. It made him feel a bit like an old man relying upon a teenager to help him buy the perfect gift.

When they parted from the group, he felt he could relax just a bit - he was comfortable in Ryoma's company, even with the rush of shoppers that flooded the malls as it was any given weekend. He held the door for the younger man on the way into the mall. "Do you know what sort of shop you are looking for?"

Ryoma nodded his thanks as Tezuka held the door, then led the way over to the mall directory. It was... not particularly helpful; this mall was, as most, pretty well-equipped in just about every department, and had plenty of varied stores with varied contents. He frowned in thought, wondering where he ought to start looking for a gift.

"D'you have any idea where you want to start?" he eventually asked - maybe if Tezuka had some kind of plan, they could start with that. He was thinking maybe a bookstore or some kind of specialty store for Saeki's gift, though he still... wanted to think on that for as long as possible.
