[Rei will spend almost the entirety of the event sitting to one side of The Door, hugging her knees. She's got a book on the floor next to her and a pencil behind one ear, but doesn't spend much time reading.

She feels strangely akin to The Door. She intends to protect it, if need be.]

[Elaine walks up with a plate in hand, several scoops of mashed potato as well as bacon on it. She sits next to Rei and offers her the food, as well as some utensils.] Food? How long have you been here?

Since this morning. [She accepts the plate and utensils with a nod of thanks and starts to eat quietly.]

[She eyes the bacon, wondering why Rei isn't eating it... maybe she's vegetarian?] I think it's interesting. [She holds out a hand and touches the door's frame, laying her palm flat against it.] The way that it's drawing us here... is almost familiar.

Yeah... we could force it. [Elaine gets quickly to her feet, hands pressed against the door again. Her eyes narrow.]

[Moving more quickly than she normally does, Rei sets the plate aside and rises. She extends her AT Field, trying to separate Elaine from the door.

Her expression and voice both remain neutral.]

[She takes a step back as the AT field falls into place. She looks surprised, glancing from the door to Rei.]

Rei... [She glances down at the plate with the bacon still on it. They'd been talking easily just a moment ago.] I don't understand. Don't you want to know? There's obviously something going on.
