How I Learned To Start Worrying And Fear The Spoilers.
1) Tamaki does not actually collect Gundam figurines. For some reason he just gets AMAZINGLY DETAILED AEGIS FIGURINES IN HIS SNACKS.
Problem: Actually, this solves a problem I thought I had. He loved talking to Cagalli, so I should have done something if he thought she was a character… XD
2) Tamaki really is perceptive (see: Princess Michelle)… like, to the point where he can just bam! Know why people are upset/acting some way and do something for them.
Problem: I can’t do that without godmodding! Like, to take my own characters, for example, Tamaki ought to be able to figure out that Rue wanted to be loved within a day or two. But… seriously, who’s going to let me do that? No, I can’t blame other people. I’m no good at picking those things up with other characters.
3) Tamaki is growing into his feelings for Haruhi. So in one chapter, Tamaki is sick, and agonizing over the fact that he wants to kiss Haruhi, but he thinks he’s a pervert because… a father wanting to kiss his daughter? Isn’t that awful? Then Tamaki’s dad comes in while Tamaki is sleeping, and kisses Tamaki just as Tamaki wakes up. Tamaki then asks if it’s perverted to want to kiss your kid, and his dad says no, it’s natural. So… when Haruhi comes in (the Host Club has been visiting), Tamaki kisses her on the forehead. And then forgets what happened. I’m not really sure if Haruhi reminded him about it later or not, but there’s a long period of time where she kind of gives him the cold shoulder.
Problem: I need to pick a point in the timeline for Tamaki to come from. Before Cassanoda, he thinks that he just has fatherly feelings. Then he starts questioning it and then… he wants to kiss Haruhi. Is one part of the series better than others? Should my goal be to incorporate as much of recent canon as possible?
4) Tamaki does karaoke.
Problem: Hahaha, I have no idea if this is a problem.
5) Tamaki is hard-working and not retarded. This is the hardest to explain. So Misuzu (the crossdressing resort owner) divorced his wife, but has a ganguro teenaged daughter (Meiko) who’s staying with Ranka and Haruhi for the summer. Meiko haaaaaates her dad. Meiko, like, gets Tamaki to do date-ish things with her and stuff, haha. But, mysteriously, Tamaki starts leaving the house before six every morning, and is gone until noon. Also, after every date, Meiko comes home with another food item or recipe from Tamaki for Haruhi to use. Haruhi eventually confronts Tamaki about it - she recognizes Misuzu’s handwriting and food, etc. Tamaki confesses that he’s been working there (!) part time so he can bring Misuzu’s stuff back to Meiko (he really wants her to taste her dad’s cooking, stop hating him, etc.).
Problem: … wow. This is so not like the rich, spoiled, never-worked-in-my-life Tamaki we met early in the series or, for that matter, the Tamaki of most of the series. Can I work this in? Where do I work this in? Should I work this in? I’m so frustrated! I have no idea what to do about all of this! Tamaki’s so much more responsible and practical than I would have pegged him for! He has a part time job, for crissakes! Originally I was worried because I’m pretty sure I’ve said Tamaki can’t cook, but those summaries didn’t explicitly say he cooked the stuff - it was all Misuzu. I’ll be thankful for small mercies there, then!

Should I feel bad or like a lousy mun for not predicting that stuff? I think 5 in particular was unpredictable... I had inlkings of 2 and figured 3 was a plot development in the making... so maybe I shouldn't feel so bad.
