Magiranger and Mystic Force
First - I wrote a fic! Joining the Veterans, in which Mack joins a team with Adam, Tori, Kira and Vida after Operation Overdrive ends.
Second, I've finished another sentai season! Magiranger! Weirdly, I think Mystic Force might be one of the few PR seasons I haven't rewatched since I did my giant marathon in summer 2010, so there was a lot of stuff that I kept trying to remember if it had been adapted for Mystic Force or not. Clearly, this means I should do a MF rewatch.
As usual, I tend to view the sentai and PR as two separate things, and like most of the seasons, I ended up appreciating both of them differently. I do think that the PR version got screwed over pretty badly, with a reduced episode count, and the fact that there is pretty much no filler that can be cut at the end.
Things I loved in Magiranger: Nai and Mare, Hikaru, Houka, Tsubasa, the fact that they were all siblings, Rin, Kai, Deka vs Magi, Mandrake Pokemon. (Seriously, Tsubasa is my FAVORITE)
Things I loved in Mystic Force: the setting/world building, Clare, Leelee, Phineas, Toby, Vida/Chip/Xander, the fact that there were more shipping possibilities, the ending with everyone coming together to give them their powers, DARK WISH.
Overall, I enjoyed both, and now I want to go back and rewatch Mystic Force. Of course, I still have a ton of sentai and Kamen Rider to watch, and I just watched the Kenshin movie, so I want to go and rewatch the anime. All the things!
