Books read in February

-Flygirl by Sherri L. Smith (Amazing.)
-The Wish Giver: Three Tales of Coven Tree by Bill Brittain (Meh. Pretty standard "be careful what you wish for" story that I've read a million times before.)
-Beam Me Up, Scotty by James Doohan
-The Third Eye by Lois Duncan (Girl is psychic. Girl has trouble coming to terms with this. Should have been way more compelling.)
-Nightingale's Lament by Simon R. Green (Nightside books are still fun and fast reads)
-Hate List by Jennifer Brown (A++++++. This is what I wanted After by Francise Pose to be, and it wasn't. So this book was exactly what I wanted.)
-Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh
-Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King
-The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
-The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
-The Return of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
-The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
-The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan (On the list of things I love, girl finds out she has special powers and may have to say the world and deal with a system that hates her ranks right up there at the top of the list)
-Comic Book Tattoo
-Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman (He did a reading from this when I saw him in December, and my reaction was "NEED THIS BOOK IMMEDIATELY." How did I not know he had done a middle grades book using Norse mythology?)
-Evermore by Alyson Noel (Meh. Really mediocre. Will probably read the sequel anyway.)
-I Am Not Spock by Leonard Nimoy (If I had read this before I Am Spock I would have liked it better, but he reused all the good parts in I Am Spock. That isn't really fair, since this one came first.)
-Silver Phoenix: Beyond The Kingdom of Xia by Cindy Pon (Oooh! A YA fantasy with a character of color! Based in Chinese Mythology! I really enjoyed this, but there were a few dropped threads, and I wanted some more information, but I assume that is what the eventual sequel is for.)
-Belle de Jour: Diary of an Unlikely Call Girl (Somehow this is imaginaryalice's fault.)
-Captain Nobody by Dean Pitchford (Cute, but not much to it.)
-Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss (A++++++)
-Jumper Cable by Piers Anthony (... *RAGE BLACKOUT* One day I will quit reading the Xanth series.)
-Enna Burning by Shannon Hale
-Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr (Mediocre.)
-Ultimate X-Men Vol. 9: The Tempest
-The Authority Vol. 1: Relentless
-Space Station Ice-3 by Bruce Coville
-Monster of the Year by Bruce Coville
-The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey (Things I love - twists on fairy tales.)
-I Was A Sixth Grade Alien by Bruce Coville (Bruce Coville does aliens extremely well.)
-Swamp Thing Vol. 1: Saga of the Swamp Thing
-Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic by Alison Bechdel (A+++++)
-Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall
-A Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce (Interesting.)
-The Mysterious Affair At Styles by Agatha Christie (Aww, my first Agatha Christie.)
-X-Men: Misfits Vol. 1 (The characterizations were really weird, but Alex Summers was totally the Phoenix, so whatever.)
-Spider-Man: Death of Captain Stacy (Oh, Peter Parker, why are you such an asshole? But there was a Bobby vs Peter fight, so points for that.)
-Echo, Vol. 1: Moon Lake
-Promethea: Book One
-Jenny Sparks: The Secret History of the Authority (A Millar book that I didn't entirely hate? What is the world coming to?)
-Superman for All Seasons
-Local (A++++++)

Total - 42 (13 comics, 9 young adult, 7 middle grade, 4 non-fiction, 9 non-YA fiction)
Best book I read - Hate List by Jennifer Brown
Worst book I read - Jumper Cable by Piers Anthony (I know, I need to stop.)
