Rochetta di Vulturno (Italy, 2013)

I've posted a handful of pictures from the Italy leg of our trip here

We're in Wiesbaden Germany now, but more on that later.

The place we stayed at in Italy - in Rochetta Alta (Rochetta di Vulturno) to be exact - was really quite difficult to find - especially with the provided directions, but perserverence, an idea that we should keep going higher, and a complete and total lack of knowledge of the Italian language got us there eventually. This is well off the beaten path, next to the Abruzzo Natioanl Park, south-east of Rome and north of Naples.

The view from our place was amazing. To whit, I took almost as many view pictures as bird pictures, which should really tell you something.

We didn't actually see Rome proper, other than the route into and out of the airport, but we also did get to the the shore of the Mediterranean for a brief visit before hopping on the plane out of town.

italy, birds, birding
