This is the first in a series of movie and TV that I will be watching while doing exercises. I figure since I need to do a lot more exercise and I can't draw while exercising I will watch movies and tv.
If there are suggestions for movies, tv or anime that I should try leave a comment. Netflix and Hulu preferred. I just want to be able to access the vids easily. Also books as well. If I am at the gym I want to listen to audiobooks.
This movie was not what I was suspecting. When I read that it was nearly two hours long I was very nervous. That is a lot of time to fill with story or stumble and have a lot of dumbed down jokes. Many movies in the last 10 years that go up to and beyond that two hour mark have to really setup up and have something or it will suffer from chapter skipping on repeat viewing. This was my fear for this movie.
In fact, at around the 45 minute mark I was ready to say this should have been cut by an hour.
That was until I got to the last 7 minutes of the movie. It brought EVERYTHING together and delivered a very satisfying story book ending.
The soundtrack is great, voice acting from Patton Oswald and Janeane Garofolo were great. There are moments in the animation that I really love for their details.
Three things in the animation and object building that I really appreciated.
Those were
Colette's Clogs, you could see the stitching on the leather
In a kissing scene the noses bent and deformed, no one does that
A scene of skittering through the walls was well made and had depth
Great for kids and for some adults. My only concern is how long the movie is. There are some moments where the scenes dare to start coasting but come back up. That will be a sticking point for the more more cynical audience.
exercise through this one were 45 minutes of the Elliptical and 20 minutes of free weights
Monday night will have Finding Nemo
