So yesterday was a difficult day. Still dragging energy wise with the aftermath of the flu. Got to work and mid-morning there was a horrible smell like gasoline fumes all through the work area. Because the air does not really move through the building, evidently something happened in the construction area (yes they do full construction in an area where people sit and work. I got dizzy, my co-worker who is pregnant went home. Not fun. Stayed the whole day just because I have already used the limit of sick days that we are supposed to which is 6 per year.
Then I got home and went to move my car, because PG&E was taking over the whole block. I realized when I got in the car that something was wrong as all the maps were scattered around the car. Then I realized that the right two windows were open. My first thought was did I really leave the windows open? Then when I got out to go close them I realized that they had broken the right rear passenger window had been shattered and was all over the back seat now. So police report pending, call to the insurance company and $25 deposit on remote to get into the garage. The garage is narrow and gives me a little claustrophobia and nerves getting in and out, but after this I cannot leave the car on the street during the week.
The worst part is that due to not having savings after the root canal, I will have to use a credit card for the $200 deductible, after not debting since August of 2005. this really bums me out, as I have known I was overspending, but thought I would be ok until I could build savings again in January.
On top of that I have two merchant disputes going. One is with Electronic Warehouse who sent me a cable I never got because of UPS not workign with me on delivery times. The other is with a subscription on a raw foods site, thebestdayever.com, connected with David Wolfe, who cannot get my subscription canceled and it has been nearly a month now. Looks like I may have to do a dispute which means no debit card for two weeks and a long drawn out process. Bah!
But life goes on. The car could have been further vandalized or stolen. The registration was left in the car and I have had higher deductibles than $200 in the past. I will start over with not debting and I will need to stick with a spending plan and build a contingency fund other than just saving in my 401k. Lessons always come up and I need to rise to the occasion.
