This is so poetic and I LOVE your metaphor ... that scene and the "it's raining" comment he made to Riza always, ALWAYS moved me in the original anime and equally moved me in Brotherhood ... one of my favorite parts since it speaks to his connection to Hughes and the way he's trying to master his emotions. Again --- I LOVE this, thanks so much. :)
