This is an idea I got for the 100_situations LJ group. For several reasons, I decided not to pursue that, but I liked the idea, so I kept it in the back of my brain for a while. I kept thinking about what I wanted to do with the plot, but I couldn’t come up with a hook

Yeah, me too. I have another Havoc fic I am writing, "Gains and Losses" and I kept trying to get Breda in there, but the real important part is between Havoc and Ross, so he keeps getting pushed to the backrground. Poor guy.
I see them like Roy and Maes, more like brothers than friends, like the old saying "a friend will bail you out of jail, a TRUE friend will be in jail with you, saying how cool it was." I see both of those pairs as true friends.

Thanks.. I already kinda know what is going to happen, I just have to work out the details, and figure out how I will work it into the manga. That is what worried me the most, keeing it canon.

The idea is actually based of a real drawing that Arakawa did, almost a thowaway image in one of the art books.
