New York | Tuesday Night
Percy had adapted to being back in New York quickly. It was nice to go out at any time of day or night and be able to get precisely what food you wanted and where you wanted it from. Something was always open. And Percy had taken advantage of that by heading out to fulfill is craving for hamburgers and hoagies. He'd gotten a bag full of both kinds of sandwiches and was currently lugging it home.
The weather being hot as Underworld made the whole process a little slower than usual and the fact that he couldn't really use his powers on the streets of New York meant no water relief. So, it was weaving in between people standing around having conversations, parents and their kids in strollers, teenagers loitering and every other possible type of person. New York never lacked for variety.
Eventually, Percy made it home but before going up to the apartment, he sat on the stoop outside and ate one of the hamburgers. He was hungry, all right? And it smelled good and he'd been carrying it all the way home so he deserved a reward.
Besides, it might have been hot out but it was still a nice night. Percy loved New York.
