I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about how I want to save and prepare funds for my future. We had a discussion in our Strategic Management class this afternoon where we talked about Roth IRA and Index funds. I intend to do some more research, but I've decided to invest smart and invest hard for my independent years after college so that I don't have to even think about social security as a back-up.
We worked on some examples in class where someone invested a couple thousand dollars a year between age 21 and 28, vs. someone who invested STARTING at 30 through the rest of their life, and the choice was clear. Life only becomes more financially straining. Packing it away now is the way to go. Period.
