Breakfast in Bed

Cristina and I have the morning off and when I wake up she's fast asleep so I slide out from under her. After trying to get ready as quietly as possible, I make a start on breakfast. If the smell of pancakes doesn't wake her up, the smell of coffee definitely should. Once I'm done, I pop my head into the bedroom door and I'm surprised to see her

"You clearly don't understand the concept of sleeping in on your day off," I mumble, burying my face in my pillow.

"Sleeping is boring," I say, taking a sip of my coffee.

I smell coffee and I raise my head a little, "Is that coffee?"

[drpburke]

"It is indeed," I reply. "There's a whole cupful waiting for you."

[drcristinayang]

I sigh heavily and I push myself up slowly, "I don't like you."

[drpburke]

"I know, you love me," I reply with a grin.

[drcristinayang]

"Or so you think," I murmur, stretching and stopping in mid-stretch, "You made breakfast?"

"I did," I reply, setting the tray down on my lap. "But since you don't like me, this is just for me."

[drcristinayang]

"No," I say, "I like you. I guess," I answer, slipping from the bed to brush my teeth and stuff first. I refuse to eat breakfast with morning breath.

"You guess?" I call out as she walks into the bathroom.

[drcristinayang]

I poke my head out from the bathroom with my toothbrush hanging out of my mouth, "Maybe."

"I still don't think you deserve any of my breakfast," I tease.

[drcristinayang]

"I can go back to bed," I shrug, rinsing my mouth before I come back out, "get out of my bed," I answer, plopping onto my side of the bed.

"I'm just teasing," I reply. "I guess I can share if you can."

[drcristinayang]

"No, it's fine. I'll sit over here and starve," I answer, already taking the coffee.

[drpburke]

"Okay have it your way then," I say not moving.
