Disclaimer: Not mine. Also, I have a cold, so it’s not completely my fault if this sucks.

Thursday’s episode left me feeling a little down, so I decided to write a little something (and by little, I mean very short). Keep this part of the blog in mind as you read, which I think sums up things perfectly:

I just had to comment on this, it's great.

You've made me feel a lot better about the episode, or rather, Meredith and Derek's situation. I hope this is the sort of thing we see really soon.

I love how Derek tells Meredith that he knows the Chief is using her. Richard has been doing that with Meredith all along and it's great to see a fic where someone points it out so clearly. Then again, I think Richard has been manipulative for ages when it comes to Meredith, sticking his nose in her life, involving himself in things he has no right to.

The only thing that disturbs me about the storyline (not your fic, the show I mean) is how the writers seem intent on making us guess what is going on in characters heads. With Derek for example, sure, he probably does want to be Chief, we know he does, but the thing I thought whilst watching the episode was that he was concerned for Meredith. She, on the other hand, is concerned about Richard (when did they get so friendly????) and surgeries, at least on the surface. I sometimes think the writers want us to think their characters are idiots. What you do with your fic is show that basically they can get the other persons point of view and that they are prepared to put each other first, like normal people.

Wow, thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this!

And I completely agree with you. Mer and Derek just felt totally out of character in this episode. I don't understand how the writers can justify them choosing their careers over each other, when we all know it's not true. That confused and annoyed the hell out of me, which is why I felt the need to tack on those few extra minutes of that scene. Because really, that ending was like a punch in the gut. :P

Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Haha. Thanks again! I really appreciate your review! :)
