If I had an enemy, I would wish that they would be forced to read The Road by Cormac McCarthy today, gazing out their window at the very real nuclear winter afternoon we're having. No need to imagine the cold, damp, nightmarish dark, hunger and fatigue, depression, of the book, it's illustrated right out there. People even look like apocalypse survivors, hunched over, hooded, bundled up in layers to keep warm, zombie walking to starbucks for relief.
