Moving to Seattle

Hey! I know this is a long shot but I'm moving to Seattle and am falling short on finding a place to live because I can't afford a separate trip up there. So, if you have any hints, or even need a roommate for September onward, that would be fantastic!

In all seriousness, though, any tips or recommendations for buildings with lower rent studios? Any sources you recommend other than Craigslist to find houses needing a roommate? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much :)

Edit:
I'm looking to spend (hopefully) no more than 650 on a studio. I know that's a really low price for the Seattle area, but I enjoy living in vintage buildings and don't need a lot of amenities. A stove and refrigerator are fine, actually, with some cabinets and a counter. Forget the marble and dishwasher and brand new hardwood, although living in a dump isn't totally ideal. I'm even up for considering a shared bathroom in a smaller building. As far as roommates, I am looking at 500/550 for rent, typical household amenities, maybe even a smallish yard (but not necessary) and absolutely don't mind sharing a bathroom. Living with people tends to be better if we have similar interests, and I'm a student who is into the arts, volunteering, and occasionally just staying at home with a good book. Likes? Interesting/eclectic neighborhood, semi-safe to safe, places nearby, decent parking, a little bit of culture and life, can be noisy but not a problem. I can drive if need be but walking and/or taking the bus would be nice. The biggest thing is that I'm willing to compromise. I know I won't find somewhere with everything I'm asking, but if it hits on a few of them that's a-okay.

As far as areas go, I've been looking in the Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, and Magnolia neighborhoods. I wouldn't mind considering elsewhere, like ID or Central District, but I'm looking for proximity. Having lived in the queen of American sprawl (good ol' Houston) for the last year, I'm ready to not have to drive 30 minutes to get somewhere.
