Dog surgeon recs needed

My St. Bernard has been recently diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia. Currently she is being managed with Rimadyl, weight control, and optimizing her glucosamine, chondroitin, and fish oil supplements. Given that she's not quite 3 years old I'm giving serious consideration to arthroscopic surgery on her legs. Since this will not be cheap I want someone with great ortho experience.

Anyone with experiences/recommendations of local dog surgeons. Serveral people I work with have dogs with a variety of dog joint issues and had their surgeries performed by Dr. Engen at Puget Sound Animal Hospital for Surgery. All have positive reviews of him. The general concensus seemed to be that he's pretty conservative in his decisions to perform surgery. My own vet refers his patients to Animal Surgery Clinic in Shoreline. I know of one person who has used their services and he came away with the feeling that they pushed surgeries irrespective of quality of life.

The costs I know are insane. It looks like my plans to look for a place to buy next year will be put on hold but I'm okay with that.
