I'm with you on this one. I have a ton of great frames that I've found at thrift stores (and antique stores).

Also, Michael's has weekly coupons for custom framing (I think 50% off?) in newspapers and online.

if you're not talking matting and glass, buy the frame over the internet. (you buy the four pieces, and put it together your self. for many wood frames, and most metal frames, this works just fine for most applications. I've done this for a number of my paintings - hence the 'no glass' thing)
