I recently found out about a nifty web application that is basically a database of every donor to 2008 US presidential election campaigns as of the end of last June. I was (really) bored one day, so I went through every ZIP code in Seattle and found several interesting donations:

Well the Sr. is Bill Gates' (of Microsoft and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation fame) father, who I guess is also not monolithic and evil but a different person nonetheless.

William Gates Sr. is notable, of late, for campaigning hard against the repeal of estate taxes.

And, as has been pointed out already, is Bill Gates' father.

Neither sinister nor monolithic, and, apparently, a reformed Republican.
