Where are the best places in Bellevue/Seattle to pick up a copy of the new Harry Potter book the day of release without having to preorder it? I'm trying to avoid the 13 year olds in wizard gear trampling me, although I'm not entirely sure if that's possible. I've purchased them at Costco quite easily the last couple times, but I won't be close

you can pre-order on amazon and it'll get dropped to your door the day of the release. i did that last time and it worked well.

Yep, that's what I did last time too, ordered from Amazon. My book was waiting for me when I got home that day (also a Saturday).

I think that the fact that 2000+ people have already requested the book can be considered a "line," no?

you shouldn't have a problem finding it. a majority of people ordered it online/pre-ordered. i know safeway's gonna have a bunch, and i doubt they'll sell out immediately.

Sunday paper confirms that QFC will have it at a minute past midnight (they are 24hours). Less likely to run into junior wizards at the grocery store.

Um, barnes and noble? Amazon always works well, but I find that the wizard thing is fun, so whatever.
