Earthquake!!!
Things got a little shakey this morning in Southern California. We haven't had an earthquake that big (5.4) in about 14 years. We get little tremors all the time, and you get so used to it you don't even feel them, but this one was a good one. Not really that bad, though. I love how it's all over the news and the media keeps trying to make it worse than it actually was. There are news helicopters flying around, looking for damage and they can't find any. I can just picture the reporter up there going, "dammit, there's nothing! Jim, get down there and start a fire!"
People always ask what it feels like. I guess it depends where you are. I was tooling around and I heard a bit of a roar and then my blinds started shaking, and my apartment started swaying from side to side. I guess it feels a bit like surfing. For a minute there it was kinda weird, because literally the building was swaying and you feel like it's gonna fall over, but then you remember the buildings are built that way to prevent them from collapsing and the swaying is normal. This was a rolling earthquake. Shakey earthquakes feel much different and scarier.
Anyway. We're all okay. It was no biggie. A lot of people are freaking out that a bigger one is coming, but I'm not worried.
