For my English class, we are reading a book written in yanitza style of writing, so our teacher told us to write something autobiographical using that style. This what I wrote:
december 10th:
I'm tired
running on four hours of sleep
Social Studies is first period
Test in three days
I sit down in my seat
across from the girl who I'll never be smarter than.
Our teacher makes us do activities in the 'new' atlases.
'They're so new they list Germany as a seperate country!' he gushes.
While we work,
the class clown, Jack, walks in
dressed up in a suit as a punishment
from Madame Lafeire
The class looks at him
and back at our teacher,
typing furiously away.
We begin to snicker.
'Jack's hear,' a girl says.
'Of course, he is. It's nine thirty,' our teacher replies,
even though Jack is an hour late.
Our teacher looks at Jack,
who is wearing the same black long sleeved, buttoned up shirt,
black shoes, gray khakis, and a olive green tie,
just like our teacher,
only his tie is gray
'Oh, Jack! I'm so flattered you're wearing the Mr. Adams collection!' he gushes.
Jack is embarrassed, 'I didn't know!' he cries.
