Soliciting Love

Miroku enjoyed women. He liked them nice and trim and with beautiful faces. He loved how they giggled and laughed whenever he made one feel special. He liked their shocked faces when he would pop the question on bended knee, and he delighted in watching that shock turn into a brilliant shade of red as they imagined the thrill of making a child together.

He even enjoyed the sting of flesh touching his cheek as they stormed off in indignation, and he loved the brush of of silky palms caressing his cheek if they were in favor of childbearing.

What he never knew was that he could enjoy a spitfire more then all the women in the world. That she denied him, thrilled him. That she could enforce his celibacy endeared her more in his eyes. Still, some days, he wished she wouldn’t come after him with that bewitching tick in her brow; it promised blood and guts, his blood and guts.

Slowly backing away from the irate woman, he couldn’t even afford to look at the two young ladies now standing next to him. He was just looking for a little bit of loving affection. He just wanted to make sure his charm still worked. Laughing nervously, Miroku eyed the stalking predator unleashed in his Sango.

Gulping, he mumbled a hurried apology and took off sprinting.

One of these days, Miroku was going to die just because he had to make sure one last time that Sango truly did love him, maybe.

Character(s) & Word Prompt: Kikyo - repent

Never at Fault

Admitting he was in the wrong was never an easy thing for Inuyasha. He hated it. It was as pure and simple as that. Why should he apologize for things he had every intention of doing in the first place? That’s where him and Kagome always ran into problems.

He acted like his normal self, and she sat him out of spite and then expected him to know what the hell he had done so he could fix it.

Stupid woman.

Grumbling, he jumped into a nearby tree, just a little further away from the girl he couldn’t stand for fear that a sleep murmured ‘sit’ would reach the ears of the rosary and give him another back-ache. It had happened before.

Ears flattening on top of his head, Inuyasha moved into the adjacent tree, just a little further away but still close enough to react in case trouble struck during the night. Gazing up at the moon, he settled himself for the long night ahead of trying to figure out what had gone wrong the last time he was sat.

Replaying the scene over and over in his mind, he could draw no conclusions, and figured he had nothing to be sorry about. Content with that resolution, he settled more comfortably against the tree, eager to catch a few minutes of fitful dozing. As he drifted off, he mourned the one thing he was truly repentant of, the fact that he wasn’t there to save Kikyou and that he hadn’t trusted her just a little bit more.

Sighing, his breath evened out into slumber, his dreams filled with a kinder time, those times spent in quiet solitude with the Kikyou of old.

Character(s) & Word Prompt: Kohaku - Weight

A Weighty Matter

Dazed, the bright light of the sun seeping through his narrowly slit eyes sent a piercing pain into his brain. Squeezing his eyes shut again, he tried to figure out why he was on the ground, with a splitting headache, and a heavy weight against his back.

The last thing he could remember was training in the meadow. He had just barely finished going through his exercises, taking his time since it was a beautiful day out, when he got hit from behind. And then he woke up, pinned to the ground.

Groaning, he fought to pry himself off the now bent blades of grass when he felt the harsh raspy edge of something wet drag itself against the nape of his neck. Shrieking, Kohaku rolled over, dislodging his attacker.

Staring in shock at his lap, he laughed. Apparently, Sango was back from her latest mission and Kirara had decided to give him a warm welcome. Scooping up the now miniature cat, he brushed the dirt off his clothing and started trudging back to the village, Kirara purring the entire way.
