The warning for dial up users in Mary's post is both very sweet and such a blast from the past! I guess some people did still have dial up in 2008.
I also love that these were wallpapers. You don't see lots of fan-made wallpapers these days. Which maybe is too bad.
I enjoyed all of them, particularly alwaysjbj's "Against all Odds." Very much time capsules of a certain era in fan art, but good in their own right beyond their, I dunno, fandom history value?
Haha, I'm working my way back through Seasonal Spuffy posts, so I didn't realize when I wrote this that teragramm had just posted a wallpaper. I guess it's not such a dead art form!
The History in Blue isn't really a wallpaper (it's the wrong size) but I didn't know what else to call it since it wasn't the size for a fic banner either. I was going to call it a poster but that seemed too "teenage boy band". *shrugs*
I don't know if you got a chance to look at Mary's other a/w but it is just wonderful. Back in the day I was very jealous of her talent (I still am). You can see her stuff here

Thank you for reposting mary5958 and alwaysjbj's work. They're great, and are part of fandom history.

Yes, a very talented part of the fandom history. It boggles my mind that those wallpapers were made 15 years ago!
