With about 3 weeks left until our fall round (yay!), here's an idea for Spike-themed inspiration/procrastination. The hosts of
The Sunnydale Fanfic Club podcast have recently found out about Seasonal Spuffy and some other BtVS communities, and they are excited and very friendly and want to help us get in the Spuffy zone!
Here is
their written announcement:
"Howdy! I know y’all are busy getting ready for NaNoWriMo, submitting your stories for the IWRY marathon, waiting for the Willow ficathon or getting your work ready for Seasonal Spuffy - And our podcast wants to help!
During the month of November we will be doing some character profile episodes to help you write for these major characters, that you may be struggling with or just need some inspiration! And in our Twitter poll, Spike won for the next character we need to discuss.
If you are interested in joining a show and talking about the Spike, just message us! We welcome anyone to join our discussion. All you need to record is a microphone (THE ONE BUILT INTO A LAPTOP IS FINE), good internet connection and some headphones. PM us if you are interested in analyzing Spike so we can get a team together for a good discussion."
In the latest podcast episode, they made clear that one does NOT have to be a writer for this -- the only requirement is to enjoy thinking about Spike. ;) They're also interested in authors who have participated in events like Seasonal Spuffy (or NaNoWriMo, the Which Witch Ficathon, etc.). So if you *have* posted fic here, it's a bonus, but if you haven't, please don't let it stop you.
If you'd like to hear some of their past episodes, head
here. They have interviewed Seasonal Spuffy participants like
sunalso,
sandy_s, me, and
the_wiggins (it's a wonder how Seasonal Spuffy didn't already come up in those interviews -- at least not in detail --, but here we are).
Their email address is thesunnydalefanficclub@gmail.com. Please consider if chatting about Spike and/or Seasonal Spuffy is your idea of fun! :) This could be a valuable opportunity to get word out about our comm, contemplate the worthy topic of Spike, and, most importantly, have a great time.
