Was a bit surprised when it came out this way.

I'm of the opinion that Buffy needs to make the first move, post-Chosen, and while it's too bad that becoming a vampire is the catalyst it took to get there, it makes perfect sense that it did. This really is an echo of the S6 resurrection. I guess practice makes perfect.
Cross my heart and hope to die for...guess it'll be the fourth time, huh?
I also like that the other characters are still themselves, even if off-stage. Willow and Giles are still a little controlling and uncomfortable, Angel is still a tortured git. Faith is a mom! Yay! That'll teach her… Heh.
And now they get to be friends, as they do so well, and inevitably, more. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you! ;-)
This is lovely and hits all the right notes.

Absolutely not. :)
I agree it's better if she makes the first move. I think everything in Spike would be shrieking at him to stay away, so she'd pretty much have to.

Thanks so much, love. And once again, many thanks for your help.

I'm glad this worked for you.

- What do you call a vampire who sired a Slayer?
- A pile of dust.
:)
Lame joke aside, that was wonderful! If Buffy's ensouled by Willow, though, does that mean it comes with a "perfect happiness" escape clause? Because obviously I wouldn't want anything to come between Buffy and Spike's new relationship. Well, clearly, this calls for a sequel!

Heh!
I think Buffy's soul is probably safe. Willow would have looked at all the options.
I agree a sequel would be nice, though unlike this fic, that could possibly get quite angsty.
