It just occurred to me that the two new chapters I posted of Edge of Sorrow, Heart of Truth were not particularly or even strictly Spuffy, which because I had the whole, entire story in my head, was easy to overlook

Thanks for the pandering :-) I loved this, especially the ending of the dream sequence. I'm sure Spike would have sacrificed himself in a (non-literal) heartbeat if he had the chance. And those last thoughts say so much about how he feels.
I'm looking forward to reading the full story once it's finished. I must apologise for not starting on the previous chapters right away, but I'm not so good with WIPs -- I much prefer to read a story in one go.
I totally understand--I have a thing with WIPs, too. So much so that I've made personal appeals to writers whose works remain WIP years after they've clearly moved on from the fandom. :)
With the quality of your writing you don't have to ever worry about pandering to the FF readers - Fulfilling a request for a story or scene is like a wonderful gift beyond this great gift you are sending out to fans and it's a way to please your readers without imposing on your primary story. I requested as a general PLEASE HELP request for someone to write a story based on a banner I did and I was so grateful that a Spuffy writer answered by call for help - I felt so proud and honored. So THANKS for creating these special scenes. I've enjoyed each one.
I'm happy to answer fan requests when I can, but it doesn't always work out. Sometimes it's simply a matter of the fact that I have a plan for a story which the fan isn't aware of. But I understand writing fanfic is necessarily pandering to fans. That's the target audience. :)
I think the idea of pairing artwork with stories (in either direction) is very cool. Would like to see that done more often.
I often do graphics based on a story - I really enjoyed your scenes. I very seldom read a WIP but I am going to read yours - I hope that you will be able to post chapters on a fairly regular schedule.
A promise to read my writing--that's high praise for a writer indeed! :)
"Regular" is not hard--for "Edge of the Sorrow", I'm committed to posting every other week. "Fast" is the problem. :)
I have an aversion to WIPs too. I have a S5 trilogy of one-shots that are "complete" that may be a good place to start ( on LJ, on AO3). They're kind of like the scenes I posted too, a couple of thousand words each. They're also the beginning of my 'verse, which isn't very different from canon yet, but all the stories I write fit together in a compatible AU.
BTW, I keep forgetting to say that I love your use of color. I'm fond of red and black, and they happen to be Spike's colors, too. I see them used in your artworks, and they just pop!
