I always think of Ilya Kuryakin when I see

paper cranes or senbazuru. (The Ilya K. from 43Things, not the one from U.N.C.L.E.)

I'd like to learn to make paper cranes this winter. I figured, if I like doing it, then I might start a senbazuro.

I was trawling Pinterest to see if there were any tutorials. There are, of course. But then I got sidetracked by this guy, who calls himself Bored Panda. He makes these intricate paper cranes. He made over a thousand of them! While I do not aspire to make THAT kind of crane (I will be content with the simpler pattern, at least to begin with, especially if I end up making 1000 of them) I thought his artistry was worth sharing. They really are teeny works of art.

I give you senbazuru master Bored Panda.

Enjoy.
