Today was my mom's birthday, but none of us realized it until my dad asked for the date and I told him the date. Then, I suddenly go like, "Oh my god, TODAY IS MOM'S BIRTHDAY!" My dad was like really, what day is it today and I tell him again then we devise a plan to get a cake baked without my mom knowing and it'll seem like we never forgot. So, my mom exercises everyday for an hour and while she was on it, I quickly whipped up our fun mix cake into 6 different cupcakes. After that was in the oven, I tell my dad that if mom asks what's burning, we're going to be like...
Me: DADD, YOUR MILK IS BURNING.
Dad: Why didn't you tell me earlier?
*he runs to the kitchen*
Dad: Well, we saved the milk in time, it's not totally burnt.
Me: I'll turn the stove off.
Dad: Okay.
And she bought it!
Anyway, I also had told my dad to lure my mom somewhere else so I could set out the cupcakes on the table and put candles in them. Well, let me tell you something. Never. Set. Wax. In. Hot. Cupcakes. Take it from me, I would know. Well, in the end, we ate cupcakes with blue or yellow wax in the middle and to make up for it, we ate out.
So, we went to a Thai restaurant and the food was great and all and we had a good time. Did you know they had spice levels that went like mild, American-hot, and Thai-hot? American-hot is when a person wants a lot of spice "but doesn't want to go all the way." Thai-hot is SUPER, DUPER spicy. Even us, Bengalis who are accustomed to spice, couldn't handle that. Well, after we paid and went in the car my sister tells me, "You have a moth in your hair." Okay, so I scream, thinking the moth was four inches (as you can tell, I don't like bugs much. xP) and basically, big. In sheer terror, I clutch my sister's knees and then I see the moth was a fingernail long. So much for screaming. But I still refused to touch it and when trying to make it go outside, I accidentally squished it. Oh moth, may you rest in peace. So, we came home and showed my mom the le cafe song and the animation is hilarious. You can find it on youtube if you type in le cafe subtitles or just click the link. :)
