Edible shells

Sorry about the crappy picture. Next to no light when I took it. A handful of edible shells and mollusks that were made for a sea inspired wedding cake. Meh. Not my favorites. The intensities in person are a teensy bit more vibrant. That round blue thing (top left) is a baby sea urchin. Next to impossible to see the dimpling on it. I really struggled with undertones on this batch. Thinking of scrapping all of my starfish.

All shells are done in very small batches, so as to make them unique, just as they would be coming from the sea shores. Also made edible pearls (not pictured). Sugar coral would be too fragile to transport, so I didn't even attempt that. Making edible sand next. :) Brides favors will be a round Caribbean blue cookie with a stenciled shell on it, in cello bags with a coordinating ribbon. Okay, gotta' scoot and get busy.
