So I've been thinking of doing something like this for a while now, mainly since I've started cooking my own food - which was years ago, but yeah procrastination.
Since it's still mostly a learning process for me, I've always thought it'd be a good idea to actually note down what I've been experimenting with so I don't forget about it. Sometimes I'll find dishes that really work but forget about it the next day.
And I do understand that most people probably don't want to know about my odd Chinese-Japanese-Italian-American fusion cooking that doesn't always work, so if anyone doesn't care to see this I'll put it under a filter. It's really mostly a note to self kind of thing.
September 20, 2009.
Brunch (11:00 am): whole grain toast with peanut butter, one egg and 2 pieces of ham in the middle with romaine lettuce and cilantro. Yogurt on the side. This is a pretty classic combo for me.
Dinner (5:30 pm): Shrimp and avocado salad (red onion, garlic, cilantro, tomato) with Self-inspired vinegrette (lemon juice, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, green onion, garlic, italian seasoning, S/P) and a plain piece of whole grain toast.
Snack (10:00 pm): Marinated red plum thing (紅棗) mixed with multi-grain powder and milk. With some fish crackers.
September 21, 2009.
Brunch (11:00 am): Oatmeal with dried seaweed, white sesame, and dried asian beef thing (肉鬆.) Plus yogurt.
Drink (2:00 pm): Coffee with a bit of milk.
Dinner (6:00 pm): Sardine and Sun-dried tomato pasta (penne, sun-dried tomato, fresh tomato, capers, sardine, garlic, parsley) Originally this was done with anchove rather than sun-dried tomato, but this kind of works too. With Miso soup (tofu, seaweed)
Dessert: Made yogurt Peach parfait. But the pasta was really filling so I'll probably save it for tomorrow morning.
Drink (9:00 pm): chamomile tea with a block of 85% chocolate.
omg I'm sick again. Seriously what's wrong with my immune system.
