There is something I have not said.
A woman was killed coming from her son's graduation. Initially the report said she had been in the state witness protection programme, however the Ministry of National Security said she did not opt into the programme.
She was a witness to a murder, scheduled to testify in court this month.
She has been gunned down while leaving her son's graduation, and naturally, a video of the killing was shared on social media.
In the video the son (he looked to be about 12) was huddled over her body screaming. His face was turned to sky screaming in grief, the way a dog would howl.
He was screaming with such force but his hand was tenderly stroking her hair. It seemed so incongruous to me, the violence of her death and the tenderness of his caress.
All I could focus on was his fingers caressing her hair.
