Below is another out take from Dream Dancing. I wrote a lot more that didn't make the book. The book is available at iunverse.com or at the Kindle store. It's also available for the Nook.
Nancy shut off the light on the stove. She brought tea to her friend Gene that worked with her during the day and hung around at night.
“She’s a hooker,” Nancy said. “I almost offered to rent a room to a hooker. How could I not know? She sold herself to the highest bidder or any bidder that called a phone number. I don’t know what she did or with whom. Why is this happening to me?”
Gene sat with a cup in front of him. There was no sugar or a spoon for him to play with so he hid his hands as not to give any signal as to what he thought. “She's not a hooker. She's a dancer. Beside, you said she was your friend. She was a good cook. You trusted her at one time.” He leaned forward. “She never put you in danger from her past. Maybe she needs your help now.”
“You’re right.” Nancy picked up her phone and called Jane’s apartment. There was no answer.
