Breakfast at Flanagan's - for jack_flanagan

Something smells good was the first thought Jane had as she started to slowly rise from a deep slumber. For a small person, she took up a remarkably large space in the bed, as she was lying on her stomach with her arms and legs spread out as far as they would reach. In her own bed that meant her hands were just dangling over the edges. In Jack's bed it was not so, and that was a signal to her still-sleeping brain that she was not at home.

It can be jarring waking up in a strange bed for the first time, but Jane felt as comfortable there as in her own apartment. She buried her face in the pillow and inhaled, smelling Jack there, and she smiled. Somehow in the night the covers had slid down and now rested in the small of her back. As she woke more she shivered at the feel of the cool air and reached for the comforter, pulling it up until it tucked under her chin. That was better.

Jane was not a morning person. She took her time waking up and tended to lie in bed for a while even after she was awake. She clung to the hope that she would fall back to sleep for some reason. She made a grumbling noise and turned her face away from the window, which was the brightest spot in the room. The only thing that could make her happier would be having Jack cuddling her.
