the delinquent strikes again
I promised an addendum to my last entry, and as I'm not much of a fan of broken promises, I thought it would be best to present it now (especially since everyone has gone journal-happy lately). However, please do not reproach me if the subject of this entry is a bit after-the-fact. And yes, I'm well aware that this is one of the most common and most hackneyed journal-fillers. But I wanted to write this entry, so you want to read it. (Jedimindtricks,what?)
I am thankful for...
1. My family for all of their love, support, understanding, quirkiness, and Swedish meatballs.
2. My friends (that probably means YOU! ...but I did said "probably," so let's not get carried away here) for everything above (sans meatballs) plus much, much more.
No, the above two are not merely token items on this list. I mean every word!
3. My teachers, for even if they have not done their jobs properly, at least they have given me something to talk, laugh, and complain about (and some of them even make excellent concert buddies!)
4. Various foods such as mint chocolate chip ice cream, curly fries, frozen mac and cheese, flavored coffee, sesame chicken, s'mores, pot pie crust, warm and fresh bagels, Hello Dollies, and of course, chocolate.
5. The George Foreman Grill.
6. My boy toys - no, let's broaden that to all little kids, especially those in my 4th grade class - for their imagination and innocence. I am also thankful that they give me something to look forward to three times a week and that they make me feel so loved.
7. College boys.
7.5. The boys of the Cornell Theta Chi fraternity for making me feel loved, thinking that I'm "smokin'," and making me the "coveted prize."
8. Gilmore Girls for all its wit, humor, and unadulterated lovableness. I thank the WB for giving me a show and characters through which to live vicariously.
9. Saturday mornings.
10. Eyeliner and mascara, without which I could survive, but would scare everyone away.
11. The Fab 5 for making over the world - one straight guy at a time. And for creating the term "metrosexual."
12. Conan O'Brien, without whom the world would just be less enjoyable.
13. Music (does this need an explanation?)
14. John Mayer, his mouth, his microphone-devouring habits, and his specialness.
15. Sploosh for their talent and dedication, for accepting me as a groupie the chaste groupie, but NOT for keeping their clothes on.
16. The car wash and Target for all their thrills and their ability to cheer me up no matter what.
17. MK&Ash for their movies, their lipgloss, and their greasy co-stars.
18. Pirates for serving as role models to all boys, for their swagger, and for their, uh, piracy?
19. The fact that we will have a newly elected president in less than one year.
20. Kirby for being the best dog and friend in the world. And for listening to me without passing judgement (or at least not expressing it), for keeping all my secrets, and for giving me such an enthusiastic greeting everytime I walk in the door.
21. And lastly, I am thankful that I was not a turkey on Thanksgiving.
