I think that about sums up what most of the Torchwood fans I know feel right now.

You can't kill off practically every cast member and shoot every possible future plotline to pieces without losing the majority of your fanbase. I hope the writers realise it.

Actually, I think it's almost certainly going to be approved for a fourth season since the ratings were so high. But now RTD has buggered off to Hollywood so he's not even around to deal with the fall out. Good luck with that, other writers/producers!

I think the point was that everybody knew the show was in danger of being canceled, and they thought that if they were going to go down, why not go down in a blaze of glory? But their definition of blaze of glory involved an epically tragic, BAFTA-worthy plot arc, and the fans' definition of a blaze of glory probably would have involved Janto triumphing in a barrage of gunfire, puns, and sexual innuendo. The two were destined to clash sooner or later.
