Saw this post BEFORE I saw your earlier post. How long til retirement?

Oh Lord, how long has it been since I posted here? Geeeeez. Anyway, I put in for retirement back in late May, and since the government is notorious for dragging its heels it takes on average about 6 months to lock in and complete the process. It doesn't pay to get sick, put on limited duty, have people dragging their heels about putting you back in your old job after doctors' clearance, and wind up staying in a shithole farm of an office because "they need bodies there." The union is involved, but to be honest I've given the government a good chunk of my adult life in terms of combined military and civil service so at this point I really don't care to linger.

Man, I feel like I'm being punished. I haven't done anything wrong, but why am I forced to be around people -- and believe me, that environment had a BAD reputation to begin with -- who have "issues". I think that even on his best day Kafka couldn't dream up a place like this.

Beyond that, I'm doing pretty good :)
