Okay, so this is awesome. I am writing this post from a really nice pub that serves an eclectic assortment of ales and has Gorillaz playing in the background. I am currently drinking White Dwarf, and am severely tempted to ask for a Spotted Hyena, along with some helllishly hot bar snacks. Not everything in my life is so fantastic, unfortunately.

I am now very settled into my new house in Leicester, with three other people from my course, one of whom is a tiny red-haired perpetual motion machine, while another is an erratically cheerful and cynical faux-goth who "just likes black, okay?" The last person I haven't worked out yet. She has a scary number of DVDs and for some reason isn't allowed to live with us. In a four bedroom house. That they originally gave us four application forms for. The estate agents say that the landlord is not prepared to pay for a "four-person licence", something that we are all fairly sure does not exist except in the mind of Laura, the borderline retarded woman who is in charge of lettings. Things are getting very ugly and may involve legality at some point.

No job yet. I've just handed in an application form to caffe Nero, which is like an English starbucks. It's not as bad as it sounds. My problem is I don't really feel like getting a job, and my parents are being incredibly supportive with money and everything, which is nice but isn't helping.

Graduation and my birthday were both awesome. At the former we were treated to an organ solo from some old guy, and a speech that was far too long from the vice-chancellor. I've seen the DVD that I wasn't aware was being made, and while collecting my degree I had a charming smile on my face. At all other times I looked terrified. The latter occasion was all I expected of it, in that I got very drunk, got a dalek bottle opener (!) and had a meal at Nando's, a spicy chicken place that made me cry with the severity of the spicy coating last time I went. I must be getting used to it because I wasn't such a pansy this time. Add to that a taste of smoked beer (beer that tastes like bacon! Bliss!) and a visit to the local metal club and I'm surprised I didn't have a hangover in the morning. I did spend the night on a sofa, due to a key-forgetting situation earlier in the night, but that was swiftly resolved. Yay.

This White Dwarf is truly spectacular. I think I should stop typing and enjoy it more.

i'm sure you don't care
